For the first time, the amount of money spent on digital advertising will surpass the amount spent on traditional advertising. The biggest loser is directories, like the Yellow Pages (down 19%), followed by newspapers (down 18%). Radio and TV are each down by about 2%. The two big leaders in terms of market share are Google (37%) and Facebook (22%). And despite all the concerns about Facebook losing users and advertising, it will actually be up a percent from last year. This has been a couple of decades in the making, but the tide is irreversible. Or maybe we should go back to the good old days of taking out an ad in the newspaper. Remember that?
